Ian Anderson is a Hilton Head Island native whose career has been built around leadership, construction, and a commitment to raising the standard of the building experience. Born and raised in the Lowcountry, Ian attended high school locally before continuing his academic and athletic career at the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of the Wildcats football program. The discipline, accountability, and team-first mentality developed through collegiate athletics would later become foundational to his approach to business and leadership.
After returning to the Lowcountry, Ian began his construction career as a regional representative for one of the Southeast’s largest exterior contracting companies. He later transitioned into custom residential construction and project management, gaining hands-on experience across the building process and advancing into senior leadership. His success ultimately led to roles as Director of Construction and Vice President. With a vision to approach luxury residential construction differently, Ian founded Blackwater Construction Group. Today, his focus extends beyond simply building homes—bringing together owners, architects, designers, engineers, and trades to deliver highly detailed projects while creating a more transparent and relationship-driven experience for clients. He says the Blackwater vision is built around unmatched quality, accountability, and lasting relationships.
