get in touch

Janet Lorenzo-Garcia is a longtime entrepreneur, insurance professional, nonprofit founder, author, runner, kayaker, lover of Cuban cafecito, community leader, mentor, friend, wife, mother, and grandmother whose life is rooted in one powerful belief: it is never too late to turn an idea into something meaningful and it’s never too late to start. Janet began her professional journey as an insurance agent at the young age of 19, and has built a successful career spanning decades, specializing in commercial insurance. But her definition of success has always extended far beyond business.

In 2005, Janet began her personal journey of giving back to children and families in her community, as an Aflac insurance agent in many underprivileged schools. Then, in 2007, she founded and incorporated Many Happy Hearts, alongside her husband Jose, while raising a family; obtaining its IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit status that same year. Their service included co-workers, friends, colleagues and she even brought her children and grandchildren to instill in them the desire to always give back and pay forward. Nearly two decades later, the organization she founded continues to bring happiness, dignity, and meaningful experiences to children and families experiencing homelessness, reaching approximately 1,000 children each year.

Through her leadership, Many Happy Hearts has developed lasting community partnerships and programs centered around birthday celebrations, soccer, holiday giving, Friendsgiving, sneaker drives, tablets, school supplies, and creating moments children can remember. Janet’s commitment to leadership and service has also led to opportunities to serve as a chairperson and host committees for community events, including Fifty Shades of Pink, Angels for Humanity, Chapman Partnership, and to participate in organizations dedicated to supporting women and families such as The Red Shoe Society of Ronald McDonald House Charities and is currently chairperson of the women’s group Womenade, empowering women and children in the homeless sector. She was honored through Take a Walk in Her Shoes in 2025, recognized as a Hispanic Woman of Distinction in 2026, and selected as a Woman to Know in 2026.
