Kevin DeTrude is an entrepreneur, recovery advocate, and the founder of Beverly’s Pet Resort, a family-owned dog-care business serving Central Indiana. What began as an idea drawn on a napkin has grown into a thriving, multimillion-dollar operation supported by a dedicated team, a 12,000-square-foot facility, and a five-acre Bark Park. For nearly 30 years, Kevin has remained committed to delivering scalable, one-on-one personalized dog care while keeping the heart of the dog at the center of every business decision.
Now 39 years sober, Kevin credits the principles of recovery, including spiritual growth, honest self-evaluation, willingness to change, connection, and service to others, with helping him build both a meaningful life and a sustainable business. His work demonstrates how the same principles that support lasting recovery can also guide leadership, strengthen relationships, and create long-term business success. Kevin is currently focused on expanding Beverly’s and preparing the company to become a lasting legacy for his children, grandchildren, employees, customers, and the dogs they serve.
Elizabeth DeTrude grew up alongside Beverly’s Pet Resort, with a front row seat to both the business her father was building and the recovery that shaped the man behind it. She watched the same principles of consistency, accountability, trust, and connection become foundational to both his life and Beverly’s. Growing up in that environment gave Elizabeth a unique understanding of what has always made the business different: genuine relationships, personalized care, and the belief that growth strengthens the foundation of all areas of life.
Today, Elizabeth is a wife, mother of three, and Vice President of Operations at Beverly’s, helping lead the next chapter of the family business. With a background in digital marketing and client experience, she brings a fresh perspective to its growth while remaining deeply committed to protecting the personal, intentional, family-centered experience her father built from the ground up. For Elizabeth, carrying Beverly’s forward is about more than growing a business. It is about preserving and advancing a legacy shaped by recovery, family, and the power of meaningful connection.
