get in touch

Kris McClellan grew up in an Air Force family, moving every few years before enlisting herself at 17, two weeks after high school graduation. She served nine years, including assignments supporting special operations, and began her insurance claims career after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. Her path has also included an abusive marriage, sexual assault, and raising the son born from that assault largely on her own while working catastrophe claims. The circumstances of his conception have never defined him to Kris; she calls him the best thing that has ever happened to her.

While seeking to understand and support her son, Kris began recognizing parts of herself she had spent a lifetime trying to explain. Learning as an adult that she has autism and ADHD helped her understand how she thinks, connects with people, and leads. Today, she is a wife, mother, and CEO of AmerAdjust, the independent adjusting firm she cofounded in 2018. She also helped her husband open Silverback FITT Gym, continuing a connection to fitness that began when she worked as a personal trainer. After more than 20 years in claims, she measures success by the trust she earns, the opportunities she creates, and the people she sees grow. She is sharing the parts of her life she has usually kept private in the hope that others feel less alone in theirs.

  • How to parent and support a gifted child with AuDHD without feeling constantly defeated.
  • That you don't have to regret your past because it can shape and shift you into who you are today.
  • Why finding the good in hard events, even when only bad is visible, can help you move forward.
