Pastor Matthew Allen From foster care and prison to church planting and discipleship, Pastor Matthew Allen’s life is a testimony of God’s redeeming grace. Born to a mother battling drug addiction and a father in prison, he entered foster care at birth and became involved in gangs, crime, and incarceration at an early age. After receiving a 12-year, day-for-day prison sentence in 2005, he encountered Jesus ten years into his sentence and surrendered his life to Him. Released in December 2017 with no home and nothing but a clear plastic bag and his faith, he began a completely new chapter. Four days later, he met his future wife on Facebook, and they married just 60 days after his release.

Not long after, God called them to move from New Mexico to Dayton, Ohio, where they planted Radiant Dayton in the parking lot of a liquor store in West Dayton’s DeSoto Bass community. Since then, they have expanded that vision through men’s and women’s discipleship homes that help people leave the streets, learn construction trades, rebuild their lives, and follow Jesus. Today, Allen's passion is seeing people who feel forgotten discover that they are not disqualified by their past—and that God can turn even the darkest story into a testimony of redemption.

Angela Allen is the First Lady of Radiant Dayton Church and the leader of the Women’s Restoration Station Discipleship Home. Alongside her husband, Pastor Matthew Allen, she has helped plant Radiant Dayton Church in the heart of Dayton’s DeSoto Bass Projects and has spent the past eight years serving women whose lives have been marked by pain, struggle, and hardship. Raised in the Catholic faith, Angela experienced childhood sexual abuse and later endured a long-term abusive relationship. Although she could not see it at the time, these experiences would become part of the testimony that shaped her ministry. Today, her story enables her to connect deeply with the women who enter the Restoration Station, helping them confront their wounds, rediscover their worth, and pursue lasting transformation through Jesus Christ.

Through her ministry and partnership with Pastor Matthew, Angela has developed a profound understanding that no one is too far gone for God’s help—and that every person is capable of healing, purpose, and true, lasting success.
