Monté L. Nash Since 1991, Monté L. Nash has been passionate about the fitness industry. Valuing the lessons from his head football coach, Tony Severino of Rockhurst High School, he achieved remarkable success as a personal fitness instructor, working with clients like Rachel Hunter and NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, and even appearing in the Reebok Slide video. In 1997, he launched outdoor fitness classes to deepen his clients’ understanding of their training, regularly drawing 30 to 50 participants each Saturday morning.
After marrying in 2006, he moved to Santa Maria, California, to head the personal training department at Gold’s Gym. Re-establishing his outdoor conditioning classes, he caught the attention of a local football coach and was hired to bring his methods to the school. Observing the immediate benefits of weighted sled pulls on developing athletes, he collaborated with contacts in Los Angeles to create the Speedsac™, an indoor/outdoor variable weight sprint trainer made of safe, pliable low-density material. Today, through a licensing agreement with Sklz, the Speedsac is available in major retail stores.
